One can only begin to acknowledge the far reaching aspects of Bible prophecy when they really begin to understand God and come to the realization that all he wills to accomplish, he will in his own manner and terms. We say, know God, in the sense we know he is our creator and protector of our souls. None of us will ever truly understand the how God works. But, one day all the mysteries of God will be revealed.
Recently, I have heard about some new interpretations about the prophetical rise of the Anti-christ . I say this because we know it's going to happen, we just don't know how. Students of Bible prophesy are always interested in how God makes things work out, so in that sense it is very interesting. Even though many of you may shake this off as a none event or another fantasy of the Bible, I feel it is imperative for the followers of Christ to have a clear understanding of coming events. A great deal of the new testament is acknowledging the relevance of the written word and importance of doctrine. The doctrine of end-time events is very important in overall theology. How Jesus dealt with the churches in Revelation is of great importance in overall understanding of the churches today and also an indicator of how the churches of today fit into world events.
Understanding that the European common market is prophetic and will surely "ring in" the last days, it is interesting and symbolic that Daniel 8:22-23 and Revelation 17:10-11 gives us the best of prophecy and outlook on this subject.
Not long ago, after listening to several television evangelists, I became quite confused, as many others are, about the true events surrounding end time prophecy regarding the Anti-Christ and his appearance on the world scene. The mainline thinking is that he will come out of the European Union. I have studied the subject over and over again and I never get that out of the Bible. The old Roman Empire or new European Union should be the ten nations referred to as the kings mentioned in the books of Daniel and Revelation. Although I am not totally convinced that these ten kings could not be a division of the world into ten regions and therefore ten regional kings led by the Club of Rome, United Nations or a similar entity.
We know the reincarnation of the Roman empire is prophetic, but the ten kings do not have to be the same kings from that empire. The two legs of the vision saw by King Nebuchadnezzar certainly indicated a split of an empire, the beginning and return of the iron empire of Rome. Iron is the symbol for strength and the clay the weakness of the union or bonding of the empire. The ten toes are five on the one leg and five on the other. Did the five toes of the former leg or empire differ from the latter or the toes of the reincarnated leg of that empire? This could indicate that the original empire would re-evolve with five of the former Kings or nations and five new or different Kings combining into a new Roman Empire or European Union. This is not to say that the present European Union is not the exact Biblical analogy of the return of that Empire. Or could this be an east-west relationship or Jew-Muslim? The toes could be representative of a group of nations in two seperate empires representing the east and west or the Godly versus Satan followers.
The Anti-Christ may not necessarily be a product of the Roman empire as is shown in a following description. In fact, in the book of Daniel, the Anti-Christ comes from the Grecian empire. There are two little horns in Daniel, each signifying an Anti-Christ or the Anti-Christ. Although, this may not be important to some of you who would say that regardless of where he comes from, the fear of his appearance will overshadow any inference to origin. But, we do this because of the bombardment by the news and misleading accounts of news events. I feel it is important to understand these things, if to only avoid confusion. I don't believe anyone would want to be deceived by the devil himself. So, in this sense, we should try to understand what god has given us.
Many say the little horn of the Goat, Daniel 8:9, was a man similar to the Anti-Christ, (Antiochus Epiphanes) who conquered Egypt and Jerusalem in 169 B.C. Although this is a credible statement, I am always fascinated or awed by what the angel tells Daniel to do. In Daniel 8:26, Daniel was told that the vision was true as he wrote it and to "shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days". Being a believer that the Bible was written for the end time generation, I find it hard to understand that the vision would have meant as much to any generation other than this generation. Due to the fact that the earth has twice as many visitors now than has ever been here, the expectations of saved individuals would be greater now than ever before. Surely, there is no reason for the vision to be sealed at this point. So, based on that mentality, I have to assume it is meant for us.
The story of Epiphanes, in my opinion, is none other than a description of the coming phenomenon of Satan. This same chapter also eludes to the amount of time the gentiles would trample the sanctuary or Holy place in Israel before Jesus came, and is the same or similar event for end time prophecy to come. I feel the two events are far too similar to be co-incidental. One mimics the Biblical accounts describing the other.
The book of life described in Daniel 12;1 below, will not be opened until the end of time as explained in the Bible. My opinion is that this exposure of Epiphanes is actually an enactment of the actual appearance of the Anti-christ, otherwise Michael would not relate the events of Epiphanes and the opening of the "Book of Life". I do not feel the two events would possibly have been told in the manner they were if they were not the same, even though they are described as two separate historical events by many.
Daniel 12:1
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
This is certainly depicting end times
Daniel 12:3
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Referring to the saved and the ones who bring people to know Jesus will be rewarded even more.
Daniel 12:4
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Daniel 8:4
I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
Daniel 8:5
And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
The notable horn is from the Grecian Empire, Alexander the Great,
who conquered the known world at that time.
Daniel 8:6
And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.
The two horns the ram had were possibly the remnants of the two former empires, the Babylonian and the Medes-Persian empires or just the Medes-Persian empire. We know the empires got stronger as they developed. Gold being the richest and the best, but silver, bronze and iron being progressively stronger yet less pure in spirit and character. Also some of these empires overlapped each other in some areas.
Daniel 8:7
And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
Daniel 8:8
Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
Alexander, the great died at the age of 33, and was replaced by his four generals who went out to conquer as he did. The notable horn that was broken into 4 notable ones is described a little later. The four horns are his four powerful generals succeeding him.
Daniel 8:9
And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
The little horn here is either Epiphanes or a description of the coming Anti-christ. Although described as the same type person who defeated Egypt, Antiochus Epiphanes, who, in essence, persecuted the Jews similar to the same pattern of events described in Revelation relating to the coming Anti-Christ. The Jews made a pact with him to prevent their destruction as they will do in the future. This is significant that these events occurred and they did this, but I am convinced for the sake of end-time prophecy the similarities may be for the purpose of exposing his origin as mentioned earlier.
Another thing, there are two instances in the Bible where the "Trumpet of God" was sounded by himself. One was the defeat of Epiphanes in 169 B.C., and the other is when the coming Anti-christ will be defeated. This is another example of the likeness of the two. Remember, Epiphanes was prophesied by Daniel long before he came into existence, as the coming Anti-christ will be. One other thing that may back this up is the next scripture.
Revelation 13:2
And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
This man was powerful with similarities to the first 3 world kingdoms, all of which Syria, his country, was a part. The dragon gave him his seat. Two things here. Did the dragon give him, his, the dragon's seat or did he furnish him, the Anti-christ, with a seat. If the dragon gave his seat to him, then we suspect that seat referred to here is the seat of Satan himself. We say the seat of Satan is Babylon or that area, including Syria, and is explained later.
Daniel 7:24
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
Here we find the king who shall be diverse from the others who subdues 3 of the first 10. This shows us that he is not one of the original five or 10 kings of the Roman empire.
As we go on, we know the Grecian empire was broken into 4 smaller empires, Egypt, Syria, Asia Minor and Macedonia. The picture on page 10 gives you a snapshot of how the kingdoms depicted in Daniel were structured and the breakup of the Grecian Empire. Also the old and new Roman Empire setting up the ten nation final powers.
The Scofield Bible, although not giving credence to this theory, doesn't reject it. It goes on to say that Syria is the country we suspect the Anti-Christ to arise from because Epiphanes was from Syria. If in fact, this theory of the duplication of the description of the coming Anti-christ is correct, we have a fairly clear picture. When one looks at the Gulf Crisis with Hussein so close to achieving the acquisition of the Arabian oil fields, his actions were almost prophetic. Some experts say that if he had went on into Saudi Arabia initially, he could have controlled the oilfields, therefore controlling the economy of the world. Who could have fought him. He would literally had the world at his mercy.
The seven heads in Revelation 12:3 are seven kings. the kings were: Babylon, Medes and Persia, Grecian, which was one and now is four, and Rome. Substituting Macedonia, Egypt, Asia Minor and Syria for Grecian, this is the seven. Five are fallen; Babylon, Persia, Macedonia, Asia Minor, and Egypt. One is; Rome. The other is yet to come for a short while; Rome and the European Union, represented by the two legs with space in between them representing the elapse of time. And the beast that was and is not, even he is the eight; Syria. In my opinion, Syria never fallen because it has been a part of every empire and has either coalesced with conspirators or because of the fact that the Anti-Christ comes from there, is interpreted in Daniel's vision not to have fallen. The fact that the Anti-Christ, Antiochus Epiphanes, is the predominant character of the Syrian empire represented here in Daniel's vision and is the primary object of the vision, and not the country itself is also evidence of this theory. These seven kings are all those who have persocuted the Jews.
Another interesting item or analogy here is the four angels bound at the Tigris-euphrates river valley that will be turned loose during the tribulation period, evidently have been prevented from advancing the ventures of Satan or served in some capacity in that area for many years. They make way for the 200 million man army of Armageddon and are also allowed to destroy 1/3 of the earth's population. Also, in looking at Syria, it has the oldest undestroyed city in the world, Damascus. Would Satan possibly have a hand in this city's viability for so long. Also, Syria, itself has been a part of each of the world empires including the first Roman empire. It is also interesting that in the book, "Beginning of the End", by John Hagee, he illustrates that Syria is the predictor of the beginning of the tribulation period, by making the peace treaty with Israel. Have the angels held back the Anti-christs' appearance. The restrainer mentioned in the new testament may not necessarily be Michael as many have thought. The restrainer to the destruction of Israel may, in fact, be these angels who by have restrained the forces of evil against Israel or have restrained Satan.
The next page is a pictorial view of the vision Daniel saw.
Revelation 17:10
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
At that time, in my opinion, we know Babylon and Persia had fell. Grecian was the great power with Alexander the Great conquering all the known world at that time. Daniel says the Grecian empire is now broken into the 4 empires named above. According to Revelation 17:10 John saw 5 kingdoms that had fallen. We have named 2. Three more would be 3 of the 4 comprising Grecia. Here it gets sticky, because some might elude to "he that continues a short space" as the third Reich or Hitler. If this is the case, some things change. "He cometh", almost eludes to a person rather than a system or empire. Could he have been considered as an empire or king? I really don't think Hitler's empire is the defining personality in this text. True enough, Hitler is the most anti-Semitic that has ever been on earth, and he is mentioned in the Torah codes of the Bible, but he is not the one we call the anti-christ.
Revelation 17:11
And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
The one that was and is not; evidently is not one of the fallen kings at that time in which John wrote the book of Revelation. So, as we said before, if Syria had not fallen at that time or will not fall prior to our Lord's return, then Asia Minor, Macedonia, and Egypt were the other three fallen kings making up the five.
We can assume that Syria, the seat of Satan did not or will not fall until the return of Christ. As Israel will not fall because of God's protection, so will Syria not fall, which we know is Israel's fiercest enemy and foe. The other seat that hasn't and will not fall till the end is Rome, the seat of the false prophet. Throughout history, Syria has simply cohabited or conspired with it's enemies to meet Satan's objectives.
We now have identified 5 fallen kings.
The one that is, which was the Roman empire at that time. Rome destroyed the Temple of God in Jerusalem in 70 A.D.
That's six kings. One is yet to come.
The Roman kingdom shall be divided, Daniel 2:41. It has by many years as evidenced by the two legs divided and we know the times of the gentiles are being fulfilled or have been fulfilled as is discussed later.
The ten nations are signified by the ten toes on two separate feet. This could possibly symbolize a change in the original nations or area of the empire. Five toes on the original foot identifying the original nations, areas, or land masses and the five toes on the other foot as five new or different nations or areas.
Now we have the reincarnation of the Roman Empire described by the iron and miry clay as the seventh king who will continue a short space. This tells us that the European Union will last only a short time, and will eventually be dominated and or replaced by the Anti-christ.
Syria has not fallen because we say it is the seat of Satan, so it is the eighth, but also of the original seven. If you take the word, he, literally, then it represents the Anti-christ himself who was also part of the eighth represented by Syria. Now, the Anti-Christ and or his system actually becomes the eighth empire, replacing the seventh, the European Union.
If the head wound in Revelation 13:12 below is Epiphanes himself reincarnated or revived as is the Roman Empire, do we not have a complete picture of the origin of the Anti-christ?
Revelation 13:12
And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
If you notice the previous picture on page 10 shows 8 kingdoms, remembering the Grecian kingdom is 4 and not 1 of itself, but one of the original seven.
Biblically, there would never be over 4 world empires before God would reign, yet this dream was a way to describe future events. Some will say that Assyria and Egypt were the first two world empires, but that doesn't fit into Daniel's vision pertaining to future events. That vision was the prophetic setting for the end times. Also, he said that the king Nebuchadnezzar was the best, illustrated by the gold and most powerful until that time with each succeeding it becoming more powerful, but less merciful.
I am almost convinced that the origin of the Anti-Christ and the ten kings of the European Union kingdom are not related to one another from a geographical perspective, although 10 kingdoms receive power from him.
Daniel 7:3
And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
4 world empires not including Assyria and Egypt as some espouse.
Daniel 7:4
The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
Babylon; power was taken away from King Nebuchadnezzar, he was put in the field to live as an animal becoming a Godly man receiving a man's heart rather than the evil heart he had.
Daniel 7:5
And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the Teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
Daniel 7:6
After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and diminion was given to it.
Grecia; with the four heads representing Macedonia, Syria, Asia Minor and Egypt.  Alexander the Great, conquered the whole world before he died at age 33 prior to the kingdom being divided. Dominion was given to the Kings to the four corners of the earth.
Daniel 7:7
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
Roman Empire and the ten nations comprising it described earlier.
Daniel 7:8
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
The Anti-Christ, which is the second Anti-christ appearing. The first, Epiphanes, was a description of where he would come from, also this does show he has an association with the Roman Empire or European Union.
Daniel 7:9
I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
God on his throne
Daniel 7:10
A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
Earthly judgment by Jesus
Daniel 7:11
I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
Anti-christ defeated and cast into hell
Daniel 7:12
As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
The Anti-christ and his kings powers are taken away in the middle of the tribulation period. But, they continue for 42 months on toward Armageddon.
Daniel 7:13
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
God gives Jesus dominion over the earth
Daniel 7:14
And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Jesus reigns for the next 1000 years
Daniel 7:15
I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.
Daniel 7:16
I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
Daniel 7:17
These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
I think this verse limits any previous kingdoms such as previously mentioned, Egypt and Assyria, from being a part of the end time prophecy.
Daniel 7:18
But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
Man's kingdoms will not last
Daniel 7:19
Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
The Reincarnation of the Roman empire. It is sad to say, but the new European Union is not going to be good for anyone, by all Biblical accounts.
Daniel 7:20
And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
The picture of the Anti-christ and he is described more stout than his fellows. Evidently, he is either more powerful in military forces, which I doubt, but is smarter and more cunning because of Satan's supernatural power. Does the three that fell come from the original ten? Could it be that the three he defeats are Kuwait, Iraq and Saudi Arabia?  Therefore he controls ninety percent of the eastern oil reserves and can easily control the ten kings through the oil supply.
Daniel 7:21
I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
Anti-Christ kills the saints
Daniel 7:22
Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
Anti-christ prevails against Christians until Jesus comes
Daniel 7:23
from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
Again, it is important to avoid what a lot of Bible prophecy experts say about the world empires. Most say that Egypt and Assiria are part of the Kings described in Daniel. The proceeding verse says there are only four, which we have named.
The Roman empire, now the European Union, dominates the earth and eventually causes it's demise in some way, probably through economic power and war.
Just a glimpse of Egypt and Assyria, if in fact they were in the prophetical picture, we would say the five fallen kings of Revelation 17:10;11 would be Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, and Grecia. One is, this is Rome. One is yet to come, European Union or old Roman Empire that continues a short space. The one that was and is not, Grecia, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goes into perdition.
Revelation 17:10:11
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
Greece or the old empire of Greece would then fit into the equation as the origin of the Anti-cjrist. He was and is not because his kingdom was divided. He is the eighth because he is added to the seven we know have fallen, and is of the seven because he was broken into the four.
Daniel 7:24
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
We know that the Club of Rome came into existence the same year that Israel became a nation again in 1948. The Club of Rome was the vehicle used to re-institute the old Roman empire. The club of Rome was probably the offspring of the Illuminati in some fashion. If we were trying to figure out the nations that comprise the 10 kingdom, it is difficult to do until the events are played out, but this is not as important as the understanding of the events.  The primary planners of the European Union were and are not good people. They are the enlightened ones or they have been illuminated by the angel of light, Satan.  The Anti-christ arises and defeats three kingdoms in the middle east, probably his oil poducing neighbors previously mentioined.
Daniel 7:25
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Satan is given total dominion over the earth, symbolized by the four horsemen.
Revelation 13:1
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
The Anti-Christ rises out of the gentile nations represented by the "sea" or by some analogies, the Mediterranean sea area. The seven heads representing seven kingdoms who has opposed the people of God and the ten horns representing his relationship with the Roman Empire or European Union and the ten nations comprising that empire.
Revelation 13:2
And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
The dragon gave him, the Anti-christ, power. The dragon gave him his seat, the dragon's seat is Babylon or symbolizing Rome, modern Iraq, or Syria of old. And authority; the authority Satan stole from Adam for dominion over the earth for 6000 years or  6 days in prophecy ( a day is as a thousand years) or 6 the number of Satan.
He had features like the first 3 kingdoms. He was liken unto them because he was them. Satan has never died. Satan gave power to all these Kingdoms.
Revelation 13:3
And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
The anti-christ gets killed and the world is astonished by his resurrection. Or, another possible interpretation, as mentioned previously, this could be interpreted as a former king, who has died and will be resurrected to be the Anti-christ. Again, we find the most fierce anti-Semitic there has ever been,  Adolph Hitler. He would be exposed as the Anti-christ the last half of the 7 year tribulation period. He fits a lot of scenarios, but not the one of Syria. Personally, I think the Anti-christ, whoever he is, is assassinated and comes back as Satan in the same body, representing the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 13:4
And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
The beast body is taken over by Satan. Who can make war with the maker of all wars. Also, his total economic and probable military dominance of the world, how can you fight him when he controls the oil fields.
Revelation 13:5
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
Typical Satan and has given the anti-christ the last 3 1/2 years of the tribulation period to continue in power, although limited.
Revelation 13:6
And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
The Anti-christ sits in the Temple of God built by the Jews proclaiming to be God. He may be the one who helps the Jews bargain with the Arabs in order to get the temple built.
Revelation 13:7
And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindred's, and tongues, and nations.
Kills all the saints who would not worship him
Revelation 13:8
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Revelation 13:10
He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
The ones saved during the tribulation, the saints, will die. There is an anology here that is interesting. "He that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword". Could we relate this to the use of nuclear weapons? The United States has used nuclear weapons, could it be it has to die by nuclear weapons? Or other countries that use them must die by them. This clearly means that how you kill, you will be killed. The patience of the saints here would surely be restraint from such. Although self defense could be viewed differently.
Revelation 13:16
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Mark of the beast
Revelation 13:17
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Revelation 13:18
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
Given that, the next question most people ask is "will the Jews accept him"? The Bible never said the Jews would or should accept him as Savior or anything else. In fact, the Jews know he is not a savior and only through a piece agreement will the Jews profit any from that relationship. The problem here is that they trust him to do what they never did trust God to do. The Anti-christ will, in fact, show himself to be an enemy of the Jews when he takes over the newly built temple, which he helps them to build with the peace, he only, can negotiate. Or, it may not even be a temple as many look forward to it. He may become the abomination of desolation by taking over the country in some way. The abomination of desolation could be him standing in the Holy place, Israel, and proclaiming to be the God of Israel.
The fact that the Anti-christ is from that part of the world is surprising. He may be a Jew or Muslim. We know there are a lot of Jews in Syria and we are talking about the boundaries covered during that period of time and not necessarily the Syria of today. The power the Anti-christ may derive from there is to somehow get control of oil reserves. Could the following passage denote the consequences of oil trade?
Revelation 17:2
With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
Or, could this mean theology or doctrine? Could this mean an apostate position of the church being taught and accepted worldwide? Is this spiritual fornication or fornication produced by over indulgence of her wealth? The Bible says the ten kings receive power after 1 hour with the beast and are one mind with him. We know that Europe has no oil reserves of their own. The power from the beast could be the oil supplies needed for their survival.
