What is the importance or significance of the cross used in churches throughout the world today? What is the real meaning of the word in scripture?  If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.   I think you will find here what the real meaning of this verse is. Yeshua said to let him take up his cross. Notice there was not the command to take up my cross, meaning the cross of Christ. If I take up my cross and follow him I make a stand for Yeshua. Simply put, I will not deny Yeshua Christ.

Is the symbol of the cross a deterent to evil or an inspiration to the just? Or is it both? Could deception be involved in the symbol of the cross? If the name of Yeshua is being taken out of public view how is it that there are crosses all over the towns and countryside? Wearing a cross in public should certainly offend your pagan neighbors. The Bible also seemed to place as much if not more emphasis on the tree than of the cross itself.   The God of our fathers raised up Yeshua, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:  And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.  In the text it seems the tree is the actual device used to crucify Yeshua and the cross is the commitment you have to him.
Why do we extremists always harp on the things we see as possibly being evil? Even the signs of the cross which Yeshua died to save us. Is it because we view it too as an idol? Why do I personally feel everything physical is not of Yeshua?  Yeshua answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.  Satan owns all physical things. Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.   Now the devil can't give to God what is not his, so evidently the devil has some claim to everything that is of this world. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.   Flesh is flesh and spirit is spirit.  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.   Symbols and idols are not of God. Cast them away.
As we look deeper into this subject we find some curious things. Mystery Babylon has always been as it's name implies, a mystery. If you look back and try to understand what in this day and time has always endured gives us a clue to what will be around at the end of the age. Nothing has changed  And there is nothing new under the sun.  When you begin to study and look back in order to understand what is going on today you will find the same symbols that were important to a bygone generation are the same symbols or idols that are serving the same purpose today, worship.
In the first known writings are found the same symbols used today for the same reasons. They all have to do with worship. The obelisk was one symbolized in eternity by the pyramids and ziggurats all over the world. The cross was also one of the first symbols used in ancient pictorial scripts. What significance these symbols had or what they truly meant in ancient times is not in the scope of the message I am trying to confer today. But, as a leery spectator I find disturbing similarities between the customs of then and now, especially when combined with scripture. I then find a compelling case to investigate. And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
If the prophetic mystery Babylon has never vanished, it is logical these symbols have just been handed down and incorporated into our modern traditional forms of worship so subtly you and I nor our ancestors were aware of it's encroachment. Many things seem so good and godly we feel guilty for even doubting them. Again a sign the devil is at the base of their origin.
It has always disturbed me to see pictures or idols/symbols of Yeshua hanging on a cross. I have a vivid imagination as most do. The words are sufficient to bring to light what happened during that time. I begin to wonder what that symbol has portrayed to others throughout history. Does it portray weakness and mortality to some who know not the true meaning of the event? Or does it inspire all to a more Godly life. I think history can answer that. When Yeshua defeated the cross it was over yet it's still among us alive and well.
Could the church obelisk (steeple) with the cross on top mean anything other than a true spiritual connotation toward God? What was on the now missing original capstone of the great pyramid of Giza? Was there a cross shaped object there indicating something to the sons of God?  The sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.  Why does the world accept this symbol of the cross yet reject the word that seemingly goes with it? The original 'House of God', was not designed as the churches today. Where did the steeples and crosses come from? Did the steeples rise high so everyone could find the church? That isn't right, the church members would surely know where the church was. Was the steeple a guide for pagans and strangers? They were not to be in the church. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
Do the symbols related to the ancient past and today have a connection? What has crept into the church unawares?   For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Yeshua Christ.   The same old things and same old men in demonic form are still doing the same old things using the same old symbols. And there is nothing new under the sun.
