Homosexuality (ho´mo-sèk´sh¡-àl´î-tê), sexual interest in members of one's own sex, sometimes accompanied by fear of or aversion to sexual activity with the opposite sex. Female homosexuality is known as lesbianism. Medical and psychological research has yielded little evidence that homosexuality is caused by either biological predisposition or feelings that one belongs to the opposite sex. No theory is conclusive but many have been proposed, including the psychoanalytic theory attributing homosexuality to an inability to resolve issues arising during the Oedipal stage of development (see COMPLEX) as well as the suggestion by some authorities that homosexuality is an expression of nonsexual problems, such as fear of adult responsibility. Many individuals have homosexual experiences during preadolescence and ADOLESCENCE but are heterosexual as adults. Some authorities as well as homosexual groups believe that instances of mental disorders in homosexuals result more from societal pressures and bias against homosexuality than from any psychopathology. In recent times (1975) the American Psychiatric Association dropped the classification of homosexuality as a mental disorder, and groups have formed to fight for the civil rights of homosexuals

If fourteen out of fifteen of the first leaders of the Roman Empire were homosexuals as suggested by David Jeremiah on a recent radio teaching, it seems entirely possible this country is headed down the same road as the Romans. As many of the world's leaders come to the stage of end time history, it seems the same problems that beset Rome are coming to fruition in America.
I once read that just before Rome fell their sports became the biggest and most important of all the events around them. Politicians were trying to get their constituents off welfare. And as we compare here homosexuality was rampant.
The tolerance issue will be the biggest issue of the coming times. Those who do not accept these lifestyles as an acceptable alternative to theirs will be disgraced and probably worse. The so-called 'spiritual abuse' of the Biblical Christians will be stopped. The gospel of Jesus will be stopped because it portrays them as guilty victims of devious acts. They do not like that guilt whether actual or implied by others toward them.
With the URI or United Religions Initiative gaining momentum (to be implemented by June, 2000) it will provide the impetus to squelch the conservative viewpoint on this issue. You will live side by side with it or you will be deemed unworthy to this great society. Many if not most churches already accept most blasphemies in their doors already so it is not a stretch to understand how easily toleration will seduce the remaining masses.
You might ask, "how does all this affect me, I can go on as I always have". The fact is you will not be able to. The Bible says there will come a time when you will have to make a decision to be on their (Satan's) side or the side of God. The scripture says you will take the 'mark' of the beast or you will either survive inside or outside the system (referred to in the Bible as the beast or Antichrist system now being set up often described as the new world order). If you are outside the system you will survive by the grace of God or die of want or need, or be killed. This is the final decision. No matter whether the 'mark' as it has been argued is an actual tattoo, implant, infrared marking of some kind or just an alliance with the worldly system you tolerate knowing in your heart it's wrong, you are irretrievably lost. If you are a tolerate Christian and join them, then the Bible says you can not enter the kingdom of Heaven. Toleration and aggression are two different things. We are to be aggressive in our pursuit of the kingdom. Paul best described it as a race and the spoils will undoubtedly go to the loser. To tolerate will certainly be to sit back and do nothing as the man did with his talent. He buried it and did not bear fruit. He was cast into darkness. This is why we must let the Spirit of God or Holy Spirit speak through us. We must listen to what the Spirit says to the churches (assemblies of believers which are and will be scattered throughout the earth).
Today the 'church' is so entrenched in the world and the members so worldly, I don't think most will even know what has transpired. These will probably be on the side of Satan persecuting the righteous thinking they are helping or acting on behalf of God. It's really time to think. As I write this I really feel a deep sense of compassion on the people of God who have been led so far astray already by the spirit of Antichrist and do not sense what is going on. We have listened to the messengers of Satan, wolves in sheep's clothing so long till redeeming these individuals is almost impossible. Through traditions of men and traditions of the church most all have been led into this final hour believing they know the truth when in fact they haven't a clue. Regardless of what you personally feel about this subject or regardless of what your preacher thinks about this subject or regardless of what your respective church feels about this subject or regardless of what your government feels about this subject or regardless of what your friends feel or think about this subject, there is one truth. men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet, receiving The virus is spread through the exchange of body fluids (primarily semen), in inside the body themselves Through anal intercourse, that which is unseemly that recompence of punishments.

19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22Professing themselves to be wise ( 4680 sophos { sof-os'}; forming the best plans and using the best means for their execution), they became fools, (3471 moraino { mo-rah'-ee-no} of salt that has lost its strength and flavour) 23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible ( 862 aphthartos { af'-thar-tos} uncorrupted, not liable to corruption or decay, imperishable; immortal) God into an image made like to corruptible (5351 phtheiro { fthi'-ro} 1to lead away a Christian church from that state of knowledge and holiness in which it ought to abide) man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. I, for one, do not think homosexuality is the latest advance over heterosexuality in the scale of human evolution. Homosexuality is a sickness, just as are baby-rape or wanting to become head of General Motors.
Eldridge Cleaver (b. 1935), U.S. black leader, writer. Soul on Ice, "Notes on a Native Son" (1968).

In homosexual love the passion is homosexuality itself. What a homosexual loves, as if it were his lover, his country, his art, his land, is homosexuality.
Marguerite Duras (b. 1914), French author, filmmaker. Practicalities, "Men" (1987; tr. 1990).

There is probably no sensitive heterosexual alive who is not preoccupied with his latent homosexuality.

Human beings are distinguished by a capacity for experience as well as by their behavior, and homosexuality is as much a matter of emotion as of genital manipulation. . . . As we each examine our own sense of identity we realize how much more complex is the question of homosexuality than a mere Kinsey-like computation of orgasms.

The . . . problem that confronts homosexuals is that they set out to win the love of a "real" man. If they succeed, they fail. A man who "goes with" other men is not what they would call a real man. The conundrum is incapable of resolution, but that does not make homosexuals give it up.

Homosexuality is assuredly no advantage, but it is nothing to be ashamed of, no vice, no degradation; it cannot be classified as an illness; we consider it to be a variation of the sexual function, produced by a certain arrest of sexual development. Many highly respectable individuals of ancient and modern times have been homosexuals, several of the greatest men among them (Plato, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, etc.). It is a great injustice to persecute homosexuality as a crime-and a cruelty, too. If you do not believe me, read the books of Havelock Ellis.

In homosexual sex you know exactly what the other person is feeling, so you are identifying with the other person completely. In heterosexual sex you have no idea what the other person is feeling.

Gay men are guardians of the masculine impulse. To have anonymous sex in a dark alleyway is to pay homage to the dream of male freedom. The unknown stranger is a wandering pagan god. The altar, as in prehistory, is anywhere you kneel.

Britain's Report of the Committee on Homosexual Offences and Prostitution, issued in September, recommends an end to punitive laws against homosexuality "between consenting adults in private." Reading University chancellor Sir John Wolfenden, 51, heads the committee; the Wolfenden Report also calls for an end to the requirement that "annoyance" be established before a constable may book a prostitute for soliciting a customer above the age of 21, but the recommendation on homosexuality is what creates a controversy. The Church of England supports the recommendations (see Street Offences Act, 1959).

AIDS (âdz) or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, disease caused by strains of a virus, known as HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), that attacks certain white blood cells (T4 cells). The virus is spread through the exchange of body fluids (primarily semen, blood, and blood products) and can persist in the body for a decade or more without any apparent symptoms. The disease weakens the body's immune system, allowing other diseases, including Kaposi's sarcoma, otherwise a relatively uncommon and benign form of cancer, Pneumocystis carinii PNEUMONIA, pulmonary tuberculosis, invasive cervical cancer, and encephalitis, to overwhelm the individual. The drugs AZT, DDI and DDC which interfere with HIV's ability to reproduce itself, are used to treat patients with HIV infection and AIDS. Studies are ongoing for an effective vaccine and other treatments. Although AIDS has largely affected male homosexuals, drug abusers, prostitutes, and hemophiliacs in the U.S., heterosexually transmitted infection has increased in the U.S. and reached epidemic proportions in several African and Asian nations.

A new universal catechism of the Roman Catholic Church was issued, Nov. 16, by a commission that had devoted 6 years to the task of revising the 400-year-old text. The compilation of teachings embraced many modern-day issues. It asserted that homosexuals "do not choose their homosexual condition" and urged that they be "treated with respect, compassion and sensitivity," but it also called on gays to remain chaste. The document declared that "Jews were not collectively responsible for the death of Jesus… All sinners were responsible for Christ's Passion."
